Pink for October
!(nb)/images/archives/298.gif! As if I didn’t have enough going on, now I’m doing ANOTHER site redesign HERE. Sheesh. Oh wait, there’s more. It’s going to be pink (again) – AND – I’m going to bug all of you to go pink too! Okay, but it’s for a great cause. “Matthew Oliphant](http://usabilityworks.org/ is heading up “Pink for October](http://pinkforoctober.org/, encouraging everyone on the web to make their sites pink for the month of October to help spread awareness of breast cancer.
So get out your pink hats and start playing around with some color combos. In honor of this cool project, I’m going to start work on a color article to help you out which will focus on all things pink, hopefully sparking some inspiration.
UPDATE: I’ve put together a simple dark pink theme for anyone interested. It’s called, appropriately, “October Pink” and if anyone would like to port this theme to Textpattern or any other CMS, please feel free.

Ohhhh! Another great even to take part in. Every year I have done the boobiethon.com, so I think I will also take part in “Pink for October”. Every bit helps! Thanks for the link.
Can we republish the article on pinkforoctober? To give people who visit the site some ideas on what to do
Let me think about that and get back to you privately. I have a general policy of not letting any article be republished elsewhere, but I’ll see about this one. Let me write it first. :)
Sounds like a great cause. Although I think pink will severly clash with my brown , I’m gonna check out your article on ribbons and make pink one to stick to it.
Sounds like a great program. Come on guys! Show your softer side
As much as I don’t like pink, I’ll pinkify the site (if I have time that is, since a baby should be arriving in the next month or so)
Thanks for the info!
Brian, congrats on the baby!
Hmm. I’m almost inspired. I’m in the midst of developing a new layout (driven by txp, hopefully) and I may just create an alternate css that’s pink. No promises, but I’m seriously considering.
I’ve been “encouraged”, I’m going Pink for October with a story.
Thank you
Larry ““ The most versatility you’ll find is in limiting the number of graphics you use in your design. The more you can do with css instead, do it! That will give you the ease to switch to or from pink anytime.
Tanny ““ so glad to hear of more participating and spreading the word, and especially that a personal event is driving you. It makes your work more personal and that makes it better design by default. ;)
